Temer, Putin sign deals on bilateral trade

In his address in Moscow, President Michel Temer pledged to bring Mercosur and the Eurasian Economic Union closer together after Brazil becomes head of the South-American bloc, later this year.
Temer further said that Brazil and Russia are well aware of their roles on the international stage, which is why they have forged joint initiatives both with the G20—the world's top 20 economies—and BRICS—formed by Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa.
“President Putin and I held talks on global issues. We share the understanding that international institutions should be more representative and efficient. We exchanged views about some of the key topics on the agenda for world peace and safety,” Temer reported.
With regards to bilateral trade, the Brazilian president noted that, in the first five months this year, the commercial exchange between Brazil and Russia boosted 40% from the same period last year. “There's still room for more investment,” he added.
