Rousseff government positive ratings up
The approval ratings of President Dilma Rousseff's government have gone up, according to the 130th National Confederation of Transport (CNT/ MDA) poll, released today (Feb. 24). Of the total respondents, 11.4% approved the government and 62.4% disapproved it.
In the lastest poll, released in October 2015, the government's positive ratings stood at 8.8%, while negative perceptions were found among 70% of respondents and 20.4% considered it regular.
In the poll released today, the government's performance was considered “terrible” by 44.7% of respondents and “poor” by 17.7%. To 1.7%, the government is considered “excellent”, while 9.7% considered it “good”. The government was regular for 25.2% of respondents.
President Rousseff's personal performance was approved by 21.8% of respondents. The disapproval ratings reached 73.9%. In the latest poll, 15.9% approved her perfomance and 80.7% disapproved.
The poll went on to ask respondents whether they believed in the effectiveness of the government's current policies to address the economic crisis, to which 79% answered no and 16.8% considered that the president is successfully addressing the situation.
CNT poll, provided by the MDA research institute, heard 2,002 people in 137 municipalities across 25 Brazilian states and was conducted between February 18 and 21.
