President Jair Bolsonaro reiterated on Twitter today (Jan. 3) his team will work to attract investment for Brazil. Infrastructure should be at the focus of strategies.
“We’ll quickly draw initial investments adding up to [$1.81 billion],” he tweeted. The estimate is chiefly based on public tenders for railways, 12 airports, and four port terminals.
The post was published shortly before the first meeting between the recently sworn-in president and his cabinet team at the Planalto presidental palace. Bolsonaro is expected to discuss top priority issues, like privatization efforts and the reduction of the government apparatus. At the office of the president’s chief of staff alone, over 300 officials were removed from appointed posts Thursday.
