Brazil´s President-elect Lula undergoes surgery
Operation removes larynx lesion and shows absence of neoplasm

Brazil´s President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was discharged today (Nov. 21) at 7:45 a.m. from the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, where he underwent a laryngoscopy. A leukoplakia of the left vocal fold - a lesion in the larynx – has been removed. No neoplasia (cancer) has been detected.
He was admitted yesterday (20) at the hospital and was treated by medical teams coordinated by specialists Roberto Kalil Filho, Artur Katz, Rubens Brito, Rui Imamura, and Luiz Paulo Kowalski.
