Brazil industry posted cumulative drop of over 7%
The Brazilian industrial production dropped 7.1% for the 11-month period of 2016. Data are part of the Brazilian Monthly Industrial Survey of Physical Production (PIM-PF), released today (Jan. 5) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
In November 2016, the national industrial output increased 0.2%, compared with October. In comparison with November 2015, the total of industry production reported a drop of 1.1%.
The 12-month indicator posted a reduced rate of falls, reporting a drop of 7.5%, compared with the 8.4% posted for the period between January and October.
According to the IBGE, comparing with the indicator for the previous 11-month period, the industry has reduced the rate of falls since July last year, when the rate reached a cumulative drop of 9.5%.
