President Dilma Rousseff canceled the trip she would make this week to Washington, in the United States, where she would attend the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS). The meeting is scheduled for Thursday (Mar. 31) and Friday (Apr. 1), and the president's flight was scheduled for Wednesday morning. The support team that always travels before the president has not embarked, and they have been notified that she would not travel anymore.

If Rousseff attended the meeting for which other heads of state are expected, Vice-President Michel Temer would be the president, as usually happens during the president's international travels.

This Tuesday (Mar. 29), the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB) decided by acclamation  to split with the federal government coalition, announced in a meeting at the party's national office, which lasted less than five minutes. The party also decided that six other ministers in the party should quit the posts they currently occupy. Yesterday, Henrique Eduardo Alves quit the post as minister of tourism.
