COVID-19: Brazil has reported 11.4 mi cases, 278.2 thousand deaths

The report published Sunday (Mar. 14) by the Health Ministry reports 43,812 new COVID-19 diagnoses in 24 hours. The figure raises the number of people infected with virus since the beginning of the pandemic to 11,483,370.

Health authorities also reported 1,127 new deaths in 24 hours, adding up to 278,229. On Saturday, the dashboard indicated 277,102 fatalities.

The report also showed 1,141,333 patients being monitored and 10,063,808 recovered from the disease.

COVID-19 across the states

The Brazilian states with the highest death counts are São Paulo (64,123), Rio de Janeiro (34,329), Minas Gerais (20,650), Rio Grande do Sul (14,957), and Paraná (13,585).

Those with the lowest death tolls are Acre (1,122), Amapá (1,181), Roraima (1,232), Tocantins (1,680), and Sergipe (3,123).
