The Brazilian government is also supporting the country through the National Risk and Disaster Management Center (Cenad) and the National Space Research Institute (Inpe), which continue to collaborate in the process of putting together maps with satellite images of Beirut for emergency post-disaster mapping activities.
“Brazil is home to the biggest Lebanese diaspora in the world. Ten million Brazilians of Lebanese descent form a hard-working, dynamic, and active community that makes an invaluable contribution to our country", he said.
A statement reports that the country needs medical aid in all fields, as well as surgical and hospital supplies. Also requested are construction materials.
“Brazil extends its condolences and feelings to the Lebanese people. We’ll make ourselves present in offering help to those people, who have a few millions in our country,” he added.
