COVID-19 in Brazil: Total case tally now 3,669,995

Over 2.8 million Brazilians have recovered from the disease

The daily report by the Health Ministry brings 1,271 new deaths and 47,134 new cases of COVID-19 from Monday to Tuesday. The update combines figures sent through by state health secretariats on the spread of the pandemic.

With the new fatal cases added to the statistics, the total since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 116,580. There are also 2,868 deaths being investigated.

According to the epidemiological report, the total of confirmed cases stands at 3,669,995. There are also 705,020 people being monitored and another 2,848,395 who have recovered from the disease.

The lethality rate (number of deaths divided by the total case count) stood at 3.2 percent. Mortality (deaths in every 100 thousand people) was reported at 55.5. The incidence of COVID-19 cases for every 100 thousand people is 1,746.4.

COVID-19 by state

The states with the highest death toll are São Paulo (28,912), Rio de Janeiro (15,560), Ceará (8,339), Pernambuco (7,425), and Pará (6,078). With the lowest amount of fatal cases are Roraima (582), Acre (607), Tocantins (610), Amapá (642), and Mato Grosso do Sul (767).
